Micro-PET Hot Rod Phantom

For measuring the spatial resolution of small animal micro-PET and SPECT systems

  • Evaluation of the spatial resolution of small-animal micro-PET and SPECT systems
  • Bubble-free design: extra cavity for air bubbles

The Micro-PET Hot Rod Phantom (also known as 'Derenzo' phantom) is a perfect tool to evaluate spatial resolution of PET and SPECT systems used for small animal imaging.

The PMMA phantom is designed for a FOV smaller than 40 mm. It consists of a fillable cylinder for the radioisotope. Two spacers can be used to align the resolution insert in the center of the phantom. The spacers can be exchanged by two full body PMMA inserts in order to avoid a high signal of the radioisotope inside the phantom. The top of the phantom houses an extra cavity for air bubbles inside the scan area when placed in a horizontal position witin the scanner.
